Superhero Day for IDFA

Be a Hero for Children Living with Immunodeficiencies

Turn your school’s next dress-up day into something truly meaningful.

Superhero Day for IDFA is a fun and easy fundraising event that helps support children and families living with primary and secondary immunodeficiency (PID) – serious, often lifelong conditions that affect the immune system.

Simply choose a date that suits your school, invite students to dress as their favourite superhero (or create their own!), and ask each participant to bring a gold coin donation.

Why Superhero Day?

The day is inspired by IDFA’s children’s book What Does Brave Feel Like?, where two children receiving hospital treatments wear superhero capes as a symbol of courage, resilience and finding strength during difficult times.

For many children living with immune disorders, everyday activities like attending school can be a challenge. By taking part, your school will help raise awareness, inspire empathy, and provide vital support for Australians living with immune disorders.

How it works
1. Choose a date that fits your school calendar.
2. Students dress as superheroes (or enjoy a mufti day).
3. Collect a gold coin donation (or optional sponsorships).
4. Celebrate your students for making a real difference.

Why schools love it
Easy to organise with minimal planning.
Flexible to fit around your existing events.
Encourages kindness, empathy and community awareness.
Supports wellbeing, health education and social justice learning.
A fun, inclusive day that every student can enjoy.
